HOW TO KEEP YOUR KIDNEY HEALTHY

on

Your kidney is located at the bottom of the rib cage, and on both sides of your spine has the size of a fist. The function of the kidney is to filter waste products, excess water, and other impurities from your blood. These waste products can be expelled through urine.

Your kidney also regulates the pH level, salt, and potassium level in your body. Which also produces a hormone that regulates blood pressure and controls the production of red blood cells.

Your kidneys are also responsible to activate the form of vitamin D which absorbs calcium for building bones and regulating muscle function. The kidney is very vital for overall health and general well-being, which is why maintaining it is essential.

Here are some tips to help keep your kidneys healthy.

Be Active And Fit

Regular exercise is good not only for your waistline but can also lower the risk of chronic kidney disease. Being active can also reduce your blood pressure and boost your health that prevents kidney damage.

You do not need to join a marathon to reap the reward of exercise. Walking, running, cycling, and even just dancing are great for your health. Find an activity that you are having fun with and that keeps you busy. It is better and easier to stick to it and have great results.

Control Blood Sugar

High blood sugar may develop and cause kidney damage. Your kidney is forced to work extra hard to filter your blood when your body cells cannot use the glucose in your body. And years of exertion may lead to life-threatening damage. Control your blood sugar to reduce the risk of damage. Consult your doctor to reduce or prevent the risk, if the damage already occurs.

Monitor Blood Pressure

A healthy blood pressure reading is 120/80. Prehypertension is between healthy and 139/89. If your blood pressure is consistently above 140/90, you have high blood pressure. High blood pressure can cause kidney damage. When high blood pressure occurs other health issues like diabetes, high cholesterol, and heart disease may cause a huge impact on your body significantly.

Balance Diet And Monitor Weight

Being overweight or obese is at risk for several health conditions that possibly damage your kidney. A healthy diet is low-sodium, processed meats, and other damaging foods that may reduce the risk of kidney damage. Eat fresh ingredients which are naturally low in sodium, like cauliflower, blueberries, fish, whole grain, and more.

Drink At Least 8 Glasses Of Water A Day

Stay hydrated a regular and consistent water intake is healthy for your kidney. Water lowers your risk of chronic kidney disease by clearing the sodium and toxins in the body. Consider the factors like climate, exercise, and health conditions like being pregnant to know how much water to intake. Aim for at least 1.5 to 2 liters of water a day.

Don't Smoke

Smoking is a huge factor that damages your blood vessels, which leads to slower blood flow throughout your body and kidneys. Smoking can put you at risk of cancer.

Monitor Medicine Intakes

Improper intake of medication may cause to damage your kidney. Always talk to your doctor about kidney-safe medicines. People with no kidney issues and who take medicines occasionally are likely to have clear kidneys.

Have A Regular Massage

Massage can remove toxins and enhance individual health. It supports the body's natural detoxification and reduces or prevents toxicity in your body. Physical stimulation created through massage helps dissolve and eliminate toxin buildup in your tissues. Clearing the toxins in your body supports the circulation of blood that keeps your kidney healthy.
